We celebrated our 25th Grade 1 winner since 2000, in November, when Passion For Gold, owned by Godolphin; bred by Roy and Gretchen Jackson; trained by Saeed Bin Suroor,won the Criterium de Saint-Cloud -G1. Only a few days prior to that we had our 6th Breeders’ Cup winner since 2000, when Life Is Sweet, owned by Pam and Marty Wygod; trained by John Shirreffs, swept past the field to win the 2009 Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic -G1! Life Is Sweet joins her full sister, 2004 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) winner and champion Sweet Catomine, who was foaled and raised here at Mill Ridge. Associating with leading owners, breeders and trainers is very gratifying for us at Mill Ridge, and these 25 Grade 1 winners reflect an achievement not taken lightly — 25 of the highest quality racehorses winning the most prestigious races!
