Ageless's powerful rally had been impossible to contain in her last two outings, and it was the same
story here as the bay mare reeled in pacesetter Goldstryke Glory under a confident Luis Garcia and held off latecharging Sky Treasure to get a first graded win. The Jackson colorbearer broke well, and settled into fourth--a bit
closer than usual. Goldstryke Glory opened daylight on the competition in upper stretch, but as soon as Ageless
was produced, it was all over. A firsttime- grass winner in a Laurel optional claimer in November, she resurfaced to
score in a Tampa off-the-turfer Dec. 20. She arrived too late in that venue's Lightning City S. on the lawn Jan. 25,
but pulled off an 8-1 upset over a pair of next-out winners in Keeneland's Apr. 19 Giant's Causeway S. Ageless most recently took Pimlico's The Very One S. on the GI Preakness S. undercard May 17. "She loved this course--it's very flat like Laurel," said Garcia of the Maryland-based mare. "If you know how to wait with her, that stretch run is perfect for her. If I went earlier it would have been too long, so I tried to wait for as long as I could before I asked her to punch."
