Aurelia's Belle remained perfect in three career tries on the Polytrack, holding off a pesky late challenge
from Stellaris to become a three-time Grade III winner this season. A debut winner over the Keeneland
synthetic last October, the bay was third to Sweet Whiskey (Old Fashioned) in the GIII Old Hat S. Jan. 4,
then found the ill-fated Onlyforyou (Malibu Moon) too tough when second in the GII Forward Gal S.
Jan. 25 and third in the GII Davona Dale S. Feb. 22. She made a triumphant return to the Poly in the Mar. 22
GIII Bourbonette Oaks and was a distant ninth in the GI Kentucky Oaks May 2 before being put up to the win in the
grassy GIII Regret S. at Churchill June 14. Adding blinkers as the heavy chalk, Aurelia's Belle pressed
forward from a high gate and took the clubhouse turn in third as Phaniebdancing (Congrats) opened up on her
rivals. The favorite, patiently handled by her trainer's son-in-law Channing Hill, crept ever closer on the turn
and came calling for the lead at the top of the stretch. Stellaris loomed as the lone potential threat inside the
final furlong, but Aurelia's Belle held that one safe to the wire. She's Offlee Good, winner of last year's
Arlington-Washington Lassie, stayed on for third.
