Alice Chandler was one of the first Kentucky horse breeders we were aware of when we first entered into the Thoroughbred world of racing and breeding. This was back in the late seventies. Her Mill Ridge Farm, which she poured herself into and built to its present stature, is remarkable: barns, fences, horses all on blue grass. To be a boarder at Mill Ridge is to know and have peace of mind. Horses thrive there. Gretchen Jackson
If ever there was a modern era "Royal Couple" to the Thoroughbred racehorse, it would be Roy and Gretchen Jackson. Passionate in the care of the horse their dedication parallels ours at Mill Ridge. Breeders of 2006 Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro this passion was in full display as they cared for him after his injury in the Preakness. Tragically, they were not able to save his life… however, grew innumerable supporters.
La Ville Rouge is one of their many mares at Mill Ridge Farm along with G1 winner's Precious Kitten, Pussycat Doll and Valbenny from which renews their dreams each and every year.
