Oscar Performance’s WORLD BEATER upsets G1 Saratoga Derby

Saturday afternoon, the Grade 1 Saratoga Derby Invitational unfolded at Saratoga Race Course over 1 3/16 miles on firm turf, hosting a $750,000 purse. WORLD BEATER, a son of OSCAR PERFORMANCE, burst late between rivals under jockey Junior Alvarado to win by a half length.

This win marked WORLD BEATER’s first Graded win and pushed his career earnings over $800,000. WORLD BEATER is trained by Riley Mott and owned by Pin Oak Stud. He was bred in Kentucky by Dr. John Chandler.

WORLD BEATER’s victory also gave Mill Ridge its 41st Grade 1 Winner raised or sold since the year 2000. [Watch the replay below]
