Aaron and Marie Jones purchased Pohave from Mill Ridge Sales as a yearling for $750,000. Mill Ridge consigned the handsome son of Holy Bull for his breeders and longtime clients the Pabst family. With age and a cut back in distance Pohave found his best running and developed into a top sprinter on the West Coast, with his signature win in the Triple Bend Breeders' Cup Invitational (G1). He ran second in his final two starts; both at the Grade 1 level, conceding a number of pounds to victors carrying the apprentice jockey weight concession.
